Description

Associate Sterile Processing Tech at Providence Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo, CA. This position is Full-time and will work 8-hour Day shift. Schedule can be discussed during the interview.

Under general supervision processes surgical instrumentation and supplies throughout the sterilization process using the appropriate personal protective equipment according to procedure. Maintains instruments in a clean, working condition, and stores according to instrument directory.

High Level Disinfection: Under the immediate supervision of the High-level disinfection supervisor, the technician processes all fiber-optic endoscopes, video endoscopes, Endocavity probes, TEE probes, and all other equipment requiring high-level disinfection utilized by the operating room and ancillary departments.

Performs daily sterilizer biological monitoring, instrument sterilization, and all associated documentation. Is proficient in required competencies.

Required Qualifications:

• National Certified Registered Central Service Technician - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association within 1 year of hire, or National Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician - Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution within 1 year of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Completion of Central Service Certification course, or sterile processing, instrument room, or central supply experience.

• High-Level Disinfection: Training in decontamination, processing, sterilization, quality control Flexible scope reprocessing.

• Central Service Certification upon hire.
